Looking for a quick and creative activity to do with your little one? This fun paper toy launcher is inspired by the Pea Shooter from Plants vs. Zombies. And yes, it actually shoots! Using just one square sheet of paper, you and your child can fold your way into a mini adventure that’s both exciting and screen-free.

It’s simple, safe, and a great way to bond. Ready? Let’s fold and play!
🧃 What You’ll Need:
- 2 square piece of paper
- A flat surface to fold on
- Optional: markers, stickers, or googly eyes for decorating
✂️ Step-by-Step Folding Instructions
(Watch the full instructions in the video here)
1. Start folding:
Fold your square paper in half from top to bottom. Press the crease firmly.
2. Make flaps:
Fold the bottom edge up once, then again. Do the same at the top edge. These flaps will help form the structure.
3. Unfold:
Now open everything back up, then you’ll see helpful crease lines.
4. Fold in half again:
This time, fold the whole paper in half, left to right. Flip the paper over.
5. Fold vertically:
Fold the paper in half from top to bottom again. Then, fold each outer edge into the center line. You’re creating a long strip.
6. Fold again:
Take those folded edges and fold them in once more toward the center. Now the strip is even thinner and sturdier.
7. Shape it into a launcher:
Find the second fold line from the edge. Press that area flat so it folds diagonally — like a triangle. Do the same on all four corners.
8. Form the “mouth”:
Carefully press the corners diagonally again. This creates the open part where the paper “pea” will launch from!
And you’re done! 🎉
🚀 Time to Play
Crumple up a small piece of paper into a little ball (this is your “pea”). Place it into the launcher’s mouth, hold the back, and give it a flick forward — whoosh! The paper pea goes flying!
You can aim at a target or just see how far it goes. It’s surprisingly fun for both kids and adults!
💡 Creative Tips
- Use colored paper to match your child’s favorite Pea Shooter color.
- Add eyes or leaves to make it look like the real thing from the game.
- Try different paper sizes to create bigger or smaller launchers.
- Set up cups or toy zombies to shoot at for extra fun!
